Common Parts Questions — Mooney M20 (All Variants)
Early M20 through M20C models used a wooden primary spar. Spar attach bolts have specific diameter and grip-length requirements to avoid wood crush. These are NAS or AN close-tolerance bolts with specific washers per the Mooney maintenance manual. Later M20J and above use all-metal spars with standard NAS6604-NAS6610 hardware.
Mooney's unique manual Johnson bar landing gear (M20 through M20C) uses specific pivot hardware that is not interchangeable. The forward-swept tail attach points use standard AN/NAS hardware but in configurations unique to Mooney. The control column attach has Mooney part numbers that cross to AN bolts — use our cross-reference tool.
