What We Source
Pneumatic systems on modern aircraft serve three purposes: engine bleed air for ECS (environmental control system), anti-icing (wing and engine inlet), and backup pneumatic power for hydraulic reservoirs and starter systems. Components range from titanium ducting and clamp rings to complex air cycle machines and pressurization controllers.
The most common procurement scenario is ECS/pressurization problems: outflow valve failure, bleed valve actuator wear, pressurization controller fault, or ducting chafing on a phase inspection. For these situations, exchange and overhauled units are the fastest and most cost-effective path.
System Overview by Platform
Boeing 737/757/767/777
HP bleed air from the compressor section at ~45 PSI. Pre-cooler (heat exchanger) reduces temperature to ~390 deg F. HP valve (HPV) controls bleed pressure to the Pneumatic Distribution System (PDS). Common failure items: HPV actuator, PCV (pre-cooler valve), bleed regulator, and ducting chafing near hot sections.
Airbus A320 Family / A330 / A340
ECAM-controlled bleed system. Three independently-controlled bleed sources (ENG1, ENG2, APU, or HP ground cart). HPV and PRV (Pressure Regulation Valve) control flow. Common: bleed monitoring computer (BMC), HP valve, ducting sensor failures.
Gulfstream G550 / G650
Engine bleed air (HP and LP ports), APU bleed, and external air connection. Pre-cooler and HPV control bleed to ECS. Pressurization controlled by outflow valve motor driven by the pressurization controller. Common: outflow valve motor assembly, pressurization controller PCB, bleed valve actuator.
De-Ice / Anti-Ice Pneumatics
Piccolo tube pneumatic de-ice systems on wings and tail. Boot-type de-ice systems (pneumatic inflation of rubber boots). Boot control valves and timer switches. Common: boot valve failure, timer/relay faults, pneumatic line chafing.
Certification
All pneumatic system components (valves, actuators, controllers) come with 8130-3 or EASA Form 1. Ducting ships with pressure-test certificates from the manufacturing facility. Outflow valve exchange includes functional test data from the exchange facility.
